5/18 Roster Highlights By: 2K Insider | Wednesday May 20 2009 Latest News - Now that the Rockets have been eliminated from the playoffs, their focus has already shifted to next season. Yao Ming's rehab is expected to take 8 to 12 weeks, so he will not be playing any basketball this summer for a change. It's widely believed that Yao's injuries over the last several years are due to his heavy workload and not getting enough rest during the NBA off-season. Hopefully for him, the rehab will be a blessing in disguise since it will give him a legitimate reason not to play for the Chinese National team. Tracy McGrady is slated to start practicing in November, but that could easily get pushed back. His biggest motivation to get healthy and back on the court could be the fact that 2009-10 is a contract year for him. Ron Artest is a free agent and would like to stay in Houston. However, he will most likely wait to see what offers, if any, he receives from other teams before re-signing with the Rockets. Andrew Bogut has been cleared to begin workouts after shutting it down this past season due to a stress fracture in his back. Leon Powe is hoping to return to action in February, but it is unclear which team he will be playing for since he is a restricted free agent this summer. He will likely draw a lot of interest around the league after his strong play in the 2008 Playoffs. Indiana's Danny Granger was named the NBA's Most Improved Player for 2008-09, edging New Jersey's Devin Harris in the voting. Granger was named an All-Star for the first time, as he averaged 25.8 ppg, 5.1 rpg, 1.5 bpg, 1.0 spg and 2.7 threes for the Pacers.
Biggest Movers - Future Hall of Famer, Jason Kidd, did not have a great post-season in 2009. While he shot the ball better than in the regular season, his assists dipped to only 5.9 per game...down from 8.7. Meanwhile, he could not contain Tony Parker [28.6 ppg on 0.546 FG% and 6.8 apg] or Chauncey Billups [21.6 ppg on 0.531 FG% and 7.2 apg] in either series. We may have seen Kidd play his final game for the Mavericks now that he is a free agent and will likely get offers from other teams. On the other hand, teammate Dirk Nowitzki put up big numbers in the 2nd round, averaging 34.4 ppg and 11.6 rpg despite being hounded by Kenyon Martin for 5 games. After shooting lights out in the Chicago series, Ray Allen could not buy a shot vs Orlando. In the 7 games combined, he shot an ice cold 8-42 for an uncharacteristic 0.190 3P%. With Garnett watching from the bench, the Celtics could not afford to have Ray play so poorly. Andrew Bynum has not regained his form since returning from his knee injury. Prior to the Western Conference Finals, he was a factor in only 2 of the 12 games for the Lakers, making you wonder if he's 100% healthy or if he's struggling psychologically. Either way, he will have to play much better if L.A. expects to raise another championship banner.
C'mon... Stephon Marbury has a 66 dunk rating and hasn't dunked in a real game since 2005, and even then his dunks were really SOFT. Duhon has been dunking at least once EVERY season for the last 3 years.
Marbury is also overrated in dunks. A player getting ONE dunk for the last 3 years does not deserve to be able to dunk at will. (WHen open)
2k need to look at ever player rating closely because kobe is trash wit the 85 dunking wade and lebron got a great advantage on him and he did not deserve it or jr smith u just dont like the lakers the season stared wit is dunk at a 99 now 85 that need to be look over jr smith 2 melo no

first post i read in a while that was a complaint or some stupid suggestion
Caron Butler has struggled out the gate averaging 16.8 ppg on 0.397 FG% over 8 games. Perhaps he won't struggle as much when Antawn Jamison finally returns to the lineup.

Tyreke Evans has flourished since Kevin Martin went down with injury, averaging 23.0 ppg, 5.8 rpg, 5.0 apg and 1.4 spg. His confidence is sky high right now which bodes well for his eventual return to running point for the Kings.

Milwaukee Bucks - Brandon Jennings
Brandon Jennings lit up the Warriors for 55 points Saturday night in a performance that had everyone talking. The Bucks finally got it right and looks to have gotten the steal of the draft this year.

Los Angeles Lakers - Andrew Bynum
Andrew Bynum is holding it down in the middle for the Lakers with 20.3 ppg, 11.8 rpg and 1.8 bpg averages. It's nice to finally see the young big man healthy and productive after some unfortunate injuries in recent years.

New York Knicks - Toney Douglas
Toney Douglas has provided the Knicks with bench scoring over the last few games. No doubt Mike D'Antoni is frustrated with Chris Duhon's lack of scoring this year.

Chicago Bulls - Joakim Noah
Joakim Noah is averaging 12.1 ppg, 12.4 rpg and 2.0 bpg and providing a presence in the paint. This is exactly what the Bulls were hoping for when they made him their 2007 lottery pick.

Indiana Pacers - Roy Hibbert
Second year center, Roy Hibbert, has improved significantly by averaging 12.6 ppg, 9.1 rpg and 2.5 bpg. He looks to be in better shape and understands his role better this time around.

Philadelphia 76ers - Samuel Dalembert
Samuel Dalembert's production has taken a dip with averages of 6.2 ppg and 6.8 rpg. Now that Marresse Speights is out for extended time, the Sixers need Sammy D to step it up.
