4/4 Roster Highlights By: 2K Insider | Monday April 06 2009 Latest News - The Detroit Pistons have decided to shut down Allen Iverson for the season, citing his back injury as the cause. This is all very suspicious because everyone knows that Iverson is famous for playing through injuries and has earned the reputation as one of the toughest guards to ever play basketball. Prior to the announcement, A.I. was quoted as saying he would rather retire than accept a bench role. So naturally one has to wonder how hurt Iverson is and if this is more about his inability to take a back seat for the team's sake. This summer Iverson becomes an unrestricted free agent and I think it's safe to say he will not be playing in Detroit again. The 76ers are playoff bound, but suffered a setback with an ankle injury to second year star, Thaddeus Young. He is expected to miss 2-3 weeks, which means it is not a lock that he will be ready to go when the 1st round begins. The Heat lost backup and recently acquired guard, Luther Head, for the season due to a broken hand. Head was slated to play backup point guard to help relieve Wade of ball handling duties, so this definitely throws a wrench in their plans. Marcus Camby is out indefinitely with a sprained left ankle and will most likely miss the rest of the season. The injury plagued Wizards got healthier over the last week, with the return of Gilbert Arenas, Caron Butler and Brendan Haywood. The team is lottery bound but they are hoping to play the role of spoiler over the next few weeks. Leandro Barbosa is back for the Suns after missing 7 games with a hyperextended knee. In his second game back, he scored 24 points in 24 minutes signaling that he's good to go. The Mavericks are happy to have Josh Howard back in the lineup after he missed 11 games with a bad ankle and wrist. They will need his all-around play as they head into the playoffs and a possible 1st round matchup with the Lakers. Troy Murphy only missed 3 games with a strained MCL for Indiana. Eddy Curry's return was short-lived as he has been shut down after only 2 games. The talk is that Curry's conditioning is far below the level necessary to play D'Antoni's uptempo style, so he will try to address that this summer. The latest team to take a chance on Shaun Livingston is OKC, who signed the talented guard to a multi-year contract.
Biggest Movers - Tony Parker's career year continues. In March, he averaged 24.8 ppg, 7.5 apg and shot 0.547 FG%. Parker is averaging career highs in points and assists this season, clearly establishing himself as the motor that makes the Spurs go. The Denver Nuggets have won 12 of the last 13 games and Carmelo Anthony has played a prominent role during that stretch. Last month he averaged 26.8 ppg on 0.473 FG% over 15 games while the Nuggets are currently holding onto the #2 spot in the West. Tyrus Thomas has put together the most consistent stretch of his career over the last couple months. That may not be saying much, but he seems to be coming into his own and contributing in multiple ways. In particular, he has been very active on the defensive end which in turn has earned him increased playing time. Von Wafer had a productive January, but has cooled off since then. His playing time and FG% have dropped off considerably over the last two months despite McGrady's absence. Allen Iverson ends his season on a low note, getting shut down with a back injury and never finding his stride with the Pistons. This year he only put up 17.5 ppg, well below his career average of 27.1 ppg.
Dunk Packages - Both Vince Carter and Carmelo Anthony have new dunk packages assigned to them.
Shot Close - The "shot close" attribute maximum is now 95 instead of 99.
ItalionStallion; I am referring to the TYPE of dunks that are done in traffic, not the fact that they are even dunking in traffic. Read what I said before replying in such a vicious manner please
Also; when do you plan on reducing the MAX CLose rating to 90 since that is what the people have voted on?
Also can you PLEASE consider lowering the close shot rating for small guards because currently they are able to score in traffic amongst bigs and we know that doesn't represent the game of basketball
Just for information, I HAVE PLAYED ABOUT 380 GAMES ONLINE AND NOBODY HAS NEVER DONE A 360 IN MY FACE..............SO.........JUST LEARN TO PLAY THE GAME, TRY TO PRESS B BUTTON OR CIRCLE FOR THE PS AND GET THE OFFENSIVE FOUL
Mr. Insider, why does Michael Ruffin of the Blazers have a Offensive rebounding rating of 99? You also have his steal rating at a 83. He's only played 23 mintuers all year, grabbed 4 offensive revbounds and four steals all year. His offensive rebounding is the highest on the team, along with his steals. Don't you think that's to high for him?
Caron Butler has struggled out the gate averaging 16.8 ppg on 0.397 FG% over 8 games. Perhaps he won't struggle as much when Antawn Jamison finally returns to the lineup.

Tyreke Evans has flourished since Kevin Martin went down with injury, averaging 23.0 ppg, 5.8 rpg, 5.0 apg and 1.4 spg. His confidence is sky high right now which bodes well for his eventual return to running point for the Kings.

Brandon Jennings lit up the Warriors for 55 points Saturday night in a performance that had everyone talking. The Bucks finally got it right and looks to have gotten the steal of the draft this year.

Los Angeles Lakers - Andrew Bynum
Andrew Bynum is holding it down in the middle for the Lakers with 20.3 ppg, 11.8 rpg and 1.8 bpg averages. It's nice to finally see the young big man healthy and productive after some unfortunate injuries in recent years.

New York Knicks - Toney Douglas
Toney Douglas has provided the Knicks with bench scoring over the last few games. No doubt Mike D'Antoni is frustrated with Chris Duhon's lack of scoring this year.
